Clinical Efficacy of Modified Dabuyuan Decoction Hot Compress Package External Application in Adjunctive Therapy of Exhaustion Stage of Chronic Renal Failure

Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of the external application of modified Dabuyuan Decoction Hot Compress Package combined with Western medicine in treating the exhaustion stage of chronic renal failure. Methods Totally 100 patients with the ex-haustion stage of chronic renal failure were divided into the treatment group and the control group with 50 cases in each group accord-ing the random number table method. The treatment group was treated with the external application of modified Dabuyuan Decoction Hot Compress Package combined with Western medicine,while the control group used only the conventional Western medicine. The curative effects,blood pressure(BP),serum creatinine(SCr),blood urea nitrogen (BUN),blood uric acid(UA),hemoglobin(Hb),endogenous creati-nine clearance rate(Ccr) before and after treatment and changes of blood electrolytes were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the treatment group was 76. 00%,which was significantly higher than 46. 00% in the control group( P <0. 05);the serum SCr,BUN,UA,Hb,ALB,24h-urine protein and Ccr levels after treatment in the treatment group were significantly improved compared with before treatment,moreover,the improvement degree in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group( P < 0. 05);in addition,blood pressure,blood electrolytes of K+ and HCO3- after treatment in the treatment group were significantly improved compared with those before treatment,and the improvement degree was significantly better than that in the control group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion The external application of modified Dabuyuan Decoction Hot Compress Package combined with Western medicine can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and delay the progression of renal failure in the treatment of chronic renal failure.
