Study on Pressure Fluctuation of a Micro Vortex Pump with Non-Uniform Blade

Abstract: The flow noise and vibration caused by the pressure fluctuation of vortex pumps during operating impacts the reliability of apparatus.Therefore,the pressure pulsation problem of the vortex pump need to minimize in design.In this paper,based on the numerical simulation,the pressure fluctuation characteristics of a micro vortex fuel pump for automobile was analyzed.Two impellers with different blade distribution methods were designed.The pressure fluctuation characteristics of non-uniform blade were simulated and discussed.Results show that the non-uniform distribution blades can significantly disperse the peak strength,reduce the amplitude of the pressure fluctuation,prevent resonance between the frequency of the pressure fluctuation and the frequency of the tank,and reduce the fuel pump noise.Therefore,the use of non-uniform distribution blades help to improve the vortex pump pressure fluctuation,and to enhance the performance of the vortex pump.
