Study on Layout and Optimization of Heliostat Field in Solar Tower Power Plant Based on Ray Trace Method

Abstract: In this paper,the photothermal conversion system of the first MW solar tower power plant in China is researched.The optical efficiency model of single heliostat in solar tower power plant is established by ray trace method.Then the total optical efficiency of the entire heliostat field is obtained.The layout range of heliostat field is determined by the law of tower shadow varied with time,the receiver reception range,and other factors.Based on this,the radial layout and the heliostat field optimization are proposed.It is found that,with the heliostat field optimization,the average annual efficiency of the first MW solar tower power plant in China is 68.6%,and the way to improve optical efficiency is also proposed.
