Study on Characteristics of Bubble Sliding in Microchannel Subcooled Flow Boiling

Abstract: Bubble sliding during subcooled flow boiling in a single rectangular microchannel(1mm×1 mm) was studied using deionized water as working fluid.The sliding bubble behaviors were observed and recorded by a high-speed CCD camera.The results show that there are two stages with different characteristics during bubble sliding process,viz.low-speed sliding phase and high-speed sliding phase.The bubble sliding velocity reaches its maximal value when the bubble is departing from the channel wall and emigrating into the main flow.The effect of operating condition on bubble sliding characteristics was also studied,it was found that the maximal sliding distance and the maximal sliding velocity of a sliding bubble before departing from channel wall both increase with Boiling number.
