Abstract: Sensitivity analysis of component concentration and production rate analysis were conducted to simplify the methane kinetic reaction model.A reduced kinetic model which contains18 components,34 elementary reaction steps was proposed to predict the homogeneous combustion of low concentration methane.Simulations of methane combustion with simplified and completed mechanism under the condition of transient and steady PSR model were conducted and compared.The results show that the two mechanisms fit well with each other in a large air-fuel ratio,and the simplified mechanism has a high precision.The low concentration methane homogeneous reaction process was predicted with simplified mechanism in a plug flow reactor model.The simulated results were compared with relevant experiments which conducted in an isothermal fixed bed reactor.The results show that simplified mechanism has an accurate prediction,and it is suited to simulate homogeneous reaction of low concentration methane.
