Feasibility Research on a New Power Quality Control Device

Abstract: In view of the power quality of network and short circuit current,a novel power quality controller( NPQC) is proposed in this paper,which can compensate voltage swells,sags,imbalance and limit short-circuit fault current. The PWM control method of the parallel and series converter in NPQC were researched,and the short circuit control method of bidirectional thyristor was presented as well,Based on which,the characteristics of compensation voltage quality and limiting fault current of NPQC were analyzed.Energy flow characteristics of NPQC in state of compensation voltage quality and short circuit fault current limiting are illustrated in detail. Finally,simulation results validate the feasibility of power quality control device.
