CLINICAL STUDY ON APPLICATION OF MIDAZOLAM TO REDUCE EMERGENCE AGI-TATION IN CHILDREN UNDERGOING CHILDREN ODONTOPATHY CURING

Abstract: Objective:To observe the clinical effects of midazolam by intravenous injection for reducing the occurrence of emergence agitation in children undergoing odontopathy curing after general anesthesia.Meth-ods:Sixty children aged 1 to 7 years old undergoing odontopathy curing with general anesthesia were alloca-ted randomly into three groups with 20 cases each.Treated with midazolam 0.05 mg/kg(A group)and 0.025 mg/kg(B group)by intravenous injection and the same volume normal saline was given(C group). HR、MAP、SpO2 were recorded at the time points of baseline(T0 ),at the end of the treatment (T1 ),at ex-tubation(T2 )and after extubation(T3 ),The Ramsay and restlessness score were evaluated at extubation and 5 min、10 min and 15 min after extubation.Results:Compared with T0 ,there were no significant differ-ences in the HR and MAP at T1、T2、T3 of A group(P >0.05),there were statistically differences in the HR at T1、T2 of B group and C group,and in the MAP at T2 of B group and T1、T2、T3 of C group(P <0.05);Compared with C group,there were statistically differences in the HR at T2、T3 of A group and T2 of B group,and in the MAP at all points of A group(P <0.05),there were statistically differences in the Ramsay at 10、15 min after extubation of A group(P <0.01),the restlessness score at 5、10、15 min after extubation of A group,and at 15 min after extubation of B group significantly decreased(P <0.05).Con-clusion:Treated with midazolam 0.05 mg/kg by intravenous injection 2 min before the end of operation can reduce emergence agitation in children undergoing odontopathy curing.
