Abstract: The paper considers the drawbacks in both Serial and Parallel methods in ASON, proposes a novel multi-domain signaling protocol(MDSP), and the ASON is modeled by the topology abstraction, serial distribution is used in single domain, but parallel distribution is used between different domains separately. Simulation results indicate that MDSP is proved to be an efficient signaling protocol, achieves a less connection setup time
