Study on Thermal Performance of CO2/Coke Gasification Power Generation System

Abstract: In this paper,a novel coal gasification and power generation system,based on the method of integrating the process of staged coal gasification and chemical looping combustion,has been proposed,which will reduce the irreversible loss of energy conversion and achieve cascade utilization of chemical energy and physical energy.In this system,CO2 is utilized as gasifying agent,and the coke is gasified to produce high concentration of CO.As a result,the thermal efficiency and exergy efficiency new system is about 49%and 47%,respectively,which is about 6%higher than traditional IGCC system.The results obtained here may provide a new way of using fossil fuel more efficiently and economically.
