Simulating the Exponential Shaped Resonator by Two-Dimension Gas-kinetic Scheme

Abstract: A two-dimensional gas-kinetic BGK model based on unstructured triangle meshes for shaped resonators was established,which was used for simulation of the acoustic and flow fields of eight exponential shaped resonators including a cylindrical resonator,the effects of shape of resonator on pressure and instantaneous flow fields were also investigated.According to comprehensive analysis on suppressing shock,higher harmonic to improving the pressure amplitude and ratio,the exponential shaped resonators of m = 2.2 is the best one.Some new physical phenomena are revealed,and detailed explanations are provided for these phenomena.
