Abstract: The composition, distribution, life forms, original districts, invasive routes and damage degrees of alien invasive weed species in Sichuan ports are analyzed in this paper based on our fi eld survey, monitoring and literature review. The results show that 196 species from 48 families and 138 genera of weed species, including 39 alien invasive plant species from 14 families and 31 genera plant species are distributed in the Sichuan ports. Up to now, no species of the quarantine invasive weeds has been discovered. The species numbers of Asteraceous plants are the highest in the total invasive weeds species. Most of the alien invasive plant species originally were from the Americas and annual herbs is the dominant life form. Most of the alien invasive plant species originally were introduced unintentionally by human beings. There are 11 species that have caused heavy threat to the local ecological environment. In addition, based on comparative analysis the literatures of invasive weeds distributing in other provinces and cities of China, the recommendations of control and management measures for the alien weed in Sichuan ports were put forward.
