Abstract: A novel testing device of Fe-Ga magnetic properties is designed. A three-dimensional finite element analysis model of magnetic field is established. Based on the modifications of local structure and adjustments of related size, the magnetic circuit is optimized. The model machine is built.The testing platform of Fe-Ga magnetic properties is set up. Experimental results show that the static,quasi-static and dynamic actuation and sensing characteristics of Fe-Ga magnetostrictive rods can be measured using the testing device. The measurement results meet the reports abroad. The device is stable, reliable and automatic recording. It has high precision and simple operation. It can also be used to test the magnetic properties of magnetostrictive materials which have lower saturation magnetic fields such as Fe-Ni and Fe-Co.
