Abstract: Constant frequency double rotor(CFDR) permanent magnet wind generator is a new type machine which was proposed in recent years. It has the advantages of low speed direct-driven,high power density, and small capacity for power converter. So it has better prospect in application.CFDR generator has windings both in the stator and inner rotor, and poor heat dissipation conditions for inner rotor, and then thermal analysis is a key point in machine design. This paper presents an equivalent thermal network method based thermal analysis for CFDR generator. Firstly, the basic laws of heat transfer are introduced. Then the thermal network model for CFDR generator is set up. The parameters of thermal model, such as heat resistance, heat source are analyzed and calculated. Finally,heat balance equation for each node is established and the equations are solved. The steady-state temperature rising of CFDR generator is obtained and validated by the experiments.
