Abstract: Conjugated Linolenic Acid were confirmed of many biological activities. Its structure,composition and source were briefly introduced. The reseach progress of its physiological activity,preparation and analysis were summarized. The results showed that CLN have effect such as anticancer,reducing fat accumulation and blood lipid although the mechanism is not clear;nature extraction,alkali isomerization and biosynthesis are main methods to prepare CLN,but the purification are still under satisfaction for commercial use;the structure of CLN is difficult to determine with a preliminary analysis by UV,IR and NMR. The review will benefit the further study and application of CLN.
