Abstract: Scutellariae Radix is one of the most important traditional Chinese medicines for clearing heat. Scutellariae Radix presents various pharmacological activities,such as antibacterial activity,antivirus,anti- inflammatory,antioxidation,anti- tumor,neuroprotection,cardiovascular protection,antihyperglycemic function and so on. Flavonoids are the main chemical materials of the above biological activities. The aim of this study is to review the progress on the chemical composition and pharmacological activities of Scutellariae Radix in order to further research and develop this traditional Chinese medicine.
