Expressions and clinical significance of FoxM1 and Cep55 in basal-like breast cancer

Abstract: Objective To detect the expression of FoxM 1,Cep55 and c-Myc in basal-like breast carcinoma ( BLBC) . Methods The expression levels of FoxM1,Cep55 and c-Myc were detected by immunohistochemisty in 66 cases of BLBC,70 cases of non-BLBC and66 cases of normal breast tissues beside carcinoma .Resutl s The positive expression rate of FoxM 1 was77 .3%(51/66),60.0%(42 /70),13.6%(9/66),respectively in BLBC tissues,non-BLBC tissues and BLBC adjacent tissues,respectively.The positive expression rate of Cep55 was 74.2% (49/66),57.1% (40/70),16.7% (11/66), respectively in the three kinds of tissues.The positive expression rate of c-Myc was 71.2%(47/66),54.3%(38/70),22.7%( 15/66) , respectively in the three groups ,there were significant differences in the positive expression rates among them ( P <0 .05).(2 ) The expression of FoxM1,Cep55 and c-Myc was closely correlated to TNM staging and lymph node metastasis of BLBC ( P <0.05),however,which was not related with patient’s age,whether menostasis or not,tumor’s size in patients with BLBC ( P >0.05).(3) The expression of FoxM1 was positively correlated to that of Cep55 in BLBC( P <0.05),so was the expression of FoxM1to that of c-Myc in BLBC ( P <0.05),however,the expression of Cep55 was not related with that of c-Myc ( P >0.05).Conclusion FoxM1,Cep55 and c-Myc may be involved in the carcinogenesis and development of BLBC,and FoxM1 and Cep55 may affect the process of carcinogenesis and development of BLBC through different ways .
