Numerical simulation on bottom argon blowing behavior in an 80 t LF ladle

Abstract: Based on physical simulation,bottom argon blowing behavior of 80 tLF ladle in a steel plant was simulated by Fluent software with the method of numerical simulation,effects of different nozzle arrangement on the flow field and blending effect were analyzed.Results show that the numerical simulation results of flow field with different nozzle arrangement are in accordance with physical simulated ones,and it could obtain precise flow field results,which makes up for the shortage of physical modelling.Blending time is shortest when selecting the arrangement scheme that two nozzles are0.5Rfrom the center and the angle of them is 45°respectively(Ris the radius of ladle).The arrangement scheme is the best in effect.
