Abstract: The enhanced SGT 800 gas turbine was introduced in 2010 at a power rating of 50.5 MW.To deliver reliable product, comprehensive validation work was carried out at both component level and system level.At component level, the aero-thermal perform-ance of vane 1 and blade 1 was thoroughly tested.At system level, the first complete package was tested for the gas turbine perform-ance, compressor performance and blade dynamics, combustor stability/emissions/thermal conditions, turbine performance and thermal conditions, etc.The test results confirmed the design target outlined during the development stage.The fleet leader in commercial operation has, up to April 2014, accumulated>24,000 equivalent operation hours(EOH).A planned opening hot section inspection at 20,000 EOH showed that all components are still in good condition.Therefore, the full design life time is expected to be fulfilled for this enhanced version.
