Abstract: Objective:To investigate the status of emotion management ability in emergency nurses and to analyze its inlfuencing factors. Method:Convenience sampling was used and 182 emergency nurses from grade III and ifrst-class hospitals in Qingdao City were investigated with self-designed questionnaire of emotion management of nurses in emergency department from October to November 2013. Result:The overall score of emotion management ability of nurses in emergency department was (49.59±4.83), and the dimension scores from high to low was emotional adjustment (3.57±0.48) , emotional awareness (2.84±0.32), emotional using (2.79±0.37), and emotional expression (1.89±0.30). Multi-regression analysis indicated that job burnout and emotional transfer were the influencing factors of emotion management for nurses in emergency department. Conclusion:The overall emotion management ability in emergency department nurses is in the middle level. It is suggested that emotion management should be introduced into nursing ifeld. Emergency department nurses should be trained according to their different characteristics to improve the level of emotion management ability.
