Application of Plant Extracts on Antioxidation in poultry

Abstract: Plant extracts, as a safe, effective, non- residual feed additives, have been used widely and received more and more attention. The reason is that plant extracts have many beneficial effects on aquaculture, such as antioxidant, antibacterial and promoting growth. In the poultry industry, poultry meat, eggs and other products during the storage are so easy to deteriorate due to oxidized, while, the plant extracts can effectively extend the storage time of poultry products.This paper summarized the in vitro and in vivo studies of antioxidant mechanism of plant extracts and its antioxidant effects on broilers and laying hens, to provide the basis for application of plant extracts on antioxidant in poultry in the future.
