Abstract: Except for the qualitative differentiation thought, there was the quantitative differentiation thought in Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases written by ZHANG Zhong-jing. And there were supplementing effects for the qualitative differentiation thought and the quantitative differentiation thought. As the special book of treating diseases based on syndrome differentiation, the Treatise on febrile and miscellaneous diseases pay attention to the quantitative differentiation thought in the aspects of understanding of the six meridians diseases, syndrome diagnosis, prescription choice and route of medication, which had an important guiding signii cance for modern research of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine.
