Abstract: The Z-Density instrument measures both formation bulk density( ρ) and the photoelectric absorption index( Pe). It also measures the borehole size. During the operation of the tool,there are usually the problems that the calibration can’t be passed and the caliper can’t be opened or closed properly. This paper summarizes a lot of experience and some solutions to these problems.
