Abstract: In the current power system, when the protection trip happens, the considerable DC component exists in the system and the current transformer is under the transient process. The correct action of relay protection device can be guaranteed by understanding the above. This paper reaches the conclusion by analyzing the transient excitation current of iron core, a containing unsaturated the DC component of current transformer saturation coefficient and effect, the nonlinear excitation characteristics of transformer, the TA excitation current and transformer, and DC component current transmission effect.
