Abstract: Because vibrations of a compound pendulum for arbitrary angles involve the elliptic integrals,it is difficult for us to investigate and to solve this problem.This paper investigates the problem and presents the angular displacement function and the period function of a compound pendu-lum for arbitrary angles by using the theory of elliptic integrals and the analytic method.
