Abstract: This paper examines the determinants influencing college graduates’ social status attainment presented by prestige of the first job in labor market after graduation, in both general status and systematic status approaches in accordance with the indicators for occupational prestige. Case study sampled in H municipality indicates that the intergenerational mobility of our sample is both open and stagnant. The advantage of family background can across labor market segmentation with facilitating the intergenerational transmissions.. Although social relations influence the status of first job, it doesn’t act as the mediator of family status.
