The Eurasian Union and economic development of the Far East

Abstract: Since the international economic crisis of 2008,the Far East’s economy has been consistent with the overall trend of the Russian economy:declining economy,shrinking regional population and stumbling social development.From the point of geopolitics,the Far East is an important area of Russia to the Asian- pacific region.For this reason promotion of the social and economic development of the Far East,consolidation of population,improvement of the region’s attraction become the important direction of modernization of eastern Russia.Against the background of world economic crisis,Putin put forward the idea of Eurasian Union.The APEC summit,in Vladivostok of the Far East in 2012,is an opportunity to promote the construction of infrastructure in the Fas East,strength economic cooperation with the Asia- pacific region.It facilitates Russia to get out economic crisis.
