Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical value of mycoplasma pneumoniae(MP)antibody(MP IgM)in the diagnosis of respiratory tract infection. Methods Using indirect immunofluorescence test to detect the serum myco-plasma pneumoniae IgM in 1924 patients with respiratory tract infection. Results There were 617 positive cases in the checked 1924 cases with the positive rate 32.07%,positive rates of men and women were 26.67% and 26.67%respectively,the difference between men and women had statistically significant(P <0.001).The highest positive rate showed in summer with rate as 45.00%,the positive rate of the spring and summer was significantly higher than that of the autumn and winter. The positive rate in children was higher than that in adults(P <0.001).Conclusion MP infection rate in patients with respiratory tract infection is high;MP-IgM test is helpful for the early diagnosis with respiratory tract infection, provide help for clinical rational using antibiotics.
