Abstract: The water soluble NaLaF4:12%Yb3 +,3%Er3 +(mole fraction) up-conversion nanoparticles(UCNPs)were synthesized by rare earth ions, oleic acid,m-chloroperoxybenzoic acid and mPEG as raw materials. This product was characterized by NMR,infrared spectrum, atomic force microscope(AFM) and transmission electron microscope(TEM).The results showed that mPEG-UCNPs with uniform size are prepared successfully.Particle size is 15 ~ 25 nm.The properties of fluorescence were characterized by molecular fluorescence spectra(MFS),which indicated that the mPEG-UCNPs have good up-conversion fluorescence properties at 510 ~ 580 nm and 635 ~700 nm.
