Abstract: From the angle of social needs, this essay discusses and analyzes the connotation of higher vocational college students’ comprehensive professional quality. By taking the engineering graduates of higher vocational college and their employers as the respondents and adopting the factor-analysis measure to conduct the quantitative analysis of the survey data, a five-dimension model structure on higher vocational college students’ comprehensive professional quality has been established, namely, the dimension of social environment fitness, the dimension of professionalism support, the dimension of career planning development, the dimension of enterprise environment fitness and the dimension of job competence, providing the theoretical support and practices guide for engineering majors to carry out a effective professional quality education in higher vocational colleges.
