Abstract: Wireline repeat formation tester (RFT) is used to obtain the formation parameters by testing flow pressure, flow time and the recovery pressure.When the packer seal fails, blockage in probe tube or flow pipe can lead to abnormal test pressure.This paper discusses the RFT pressure response in low permeability formation and depleted pressure formation.In low permeability formation, recovery time should be appropriately extended to take the accurate formation pressure while in depleted formation, it is suggested that the second pretest flow section with greater pressure drop is chosen to calculate formation permeability.
