Abstract: Tongren city is known as “the east door of Guizhou”, where Han, Tujia, Miao, Dong, and many other ethnic groups are living. They blend with each other with independence, and have jointly created the rich and colorful national culture in Tongren. Today with the strong wave of globalization and economic integration, traditional national culture is facing serious challenge so that construction of national culture is extremely urgent. Based on presenting the national cultural connotation in Tongren city and combining with the local situation, the author discusses the construction of national culture in order to contribute the meager strength to the continuity and development of traditional national culture in Tongren city.
