Abstract: Based on the offshore platform-rocking wall system,we installed a viscoelastic rotary damper in the hinge point at the bottom of the rocking-wall for passive energy dissipation and structure vibration control.The seismic performances are calculated by using ANSYS software under the earthquake load,and the stiffness and damping parameters of damper are analyzed and compared.The results show that the rotary damper is installed at the bottom hinge of the wall can significantly reduce the seismic response of structures.
