Clinical Efficacy of Shenguiren Mixture Combined with Psychological Intervention in Treating Postpartum Depression in 60 Cases

Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical effect of Shenguiren Mixture combined with the psychological intervention in treating post-partum depression. Methods 120 patients with postpartum depression were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,60 cases in each group. The two groups were given the comprehensive psychological intervention therapy,but the treatment group was added with Shenguiren Mixture with 6 weeks as one treatment course. The Edinburgh postnatal depression scale(EPDS)scores and the TCM syndrome scores at the end of 3,6 weeks were adopted to evaluate the curative effect. The self - rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self - rating depression scale(SDS)were detected at the end of 2,4,6 weeks in the two groups. Results The EPDS score and TCM syndrome score at the end of 3,6 weeks in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group( P <0. 01). The total effect rate of the treatment group and the control group were 93. 33% and 63. 33% respectively,the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group with statistical difference between the two groups( P < 0. 05). The decrease degree of SAS and SDS scores at the end of 4,6 weeks in treatment group were significantly superior to that in the control group with statistical difference( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Shenguiren Mixture combined with the psychological intervention can effectively improve the depres-sive emotion of postpartum depression,which is safe and effective and worthy of clinical promotion.
