Deformation mechanism study of unstable slope in coal mined goaf area

Abstract: Base on the field geological survey and physical simulation test results,a detailed study on deformation characteristics and developing process is performed of an unstable slopes located in the coal mined area in Yunlongshan,Dafang County,Guizhou Province. The study area is constituted by limestone with intense cut terrains,deep valleys and steep slopes. The six coal mining caverns which are at the bottom lead to the slope cracks and collapses on the surface,which is a typical failure case induced by mining goaf. The failure process could be summarized as coal mining- goaf collapse- slope surface subsidence /cracking- slope failure.
