Abstract: Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of 24-hour ambulatory electroencephalogram (24-hour AEEG) on epilepsy with non -epileptic diseases .Methods From 2011 to 2012 ,137 cases in our hospital were chosen ,and ,and were di-vided into epilepsy group and suspect epilepsy group according to clinical diagnosis .Results The EEG abnormalities detection rate in 137 cases was 63 .5% .The abnormalities rate in epilepsy group was 88 .51% ,the epileptiform discharges detection rate was 83 .91% .While in the suspect group ,the abnormalities rate was 42% ,the epileptiform discharges detection rate was 28% .The abnormalities rate and epileptiform discharges detection rate in epilepsy group were higher than suspect epileptic group (P<0 .05) .Conclusion 24-hour AEEG could diagnose paediatric epilepsy effectively ,and has clinical value on epilepsy identification and diagnosis .
