Abstract: Narrative career counseling is a new approach of career counseling, which is put forward by the rapid development of economics and society and the constructivism theory. Although a unified definition of narrative career counseling has not been in consensus, some scholars have introduced a theoretical framework on the career construction. The process of narrative career counseling usually includes three stages: co-construct, deconstruct and construct. Based on the theory and counseling processes, two qualitative assessments, My Career Story and My System of Career Influence, have been applied to the career counseling for practice. The research on the narrative career counseling is only in its infancy, the theories, research methods and assessment tools are still warranted further studies.
