Preparation of Gastrodiae Rhizoma Extract Sustained-release Tablets

Abstract: AIM To prepare Gastrodiae Rhizoma Extract Sustained-Release Tablets and to study their release mechanisms in vitro. METHODS With hydroxypropyl methylcellulose( HPMCK15M) as the matrix material,the release scores at 2 h,4 h and 10 h and the sum of these scores calculated by the weight transformation equation were used as the technique parameters of the wet granule compression,the release profile in vitro was measured.RESULTS The sustained-release tablets with 45% HPMCK15M as the matrix,and 10% octadecanol as retardant could continue releasing for 12 h and its pharmacodynamic characteristic in release was consistent with Higuchi equation. CONCLUSION The prepared sustained-release tablets can extend the release of gastrodin and decrease its concentration fluctuation.
