Urban Road Traffic Congestion and Improvement Measures

Abstract: The increasing vehicle volume and population density leads to more and more highlighted traf-fic developing problems. If the problems couldn′t be settled effectively and treated fundamentally, it will heavily threatened the sustainable, rapid and health development of China′s economy. The basic factors of highway traffic include person, vehicle and road. This paper discovers the specific reasons of traffic con-gestion by analyzing the properties of the three factors, puts forward the measures and suggestions in the aspects of policy, driver behavior, road planning and construction with the hope to provide reference for al-leviating traffic congestion.
