Abstract: The scenery is one of the shaping factors on the stage and it is an important part of the drama stage art. It is close to drama, and will not only help the embodiment of the plot, more have great influence to the audience appreciation and performers.Critics of the late Qing and early republic keep the application of old and new drama scenery separate, generally oppose the old drama scenes, and fully affirm its role in the new drama performances, and make positive suggestions for its improper use.They also provide the reference theoretical knowledge and practical cases for the development of Chinese drama stage scenes through the translation of western works or the investigation on western theatres.
