Abstract: The sugar boiling process is the most important procedure affecting the quality of sugar production. Considering the existing problems in boiling technique and test equipment,an open-architecture integrated experimental platform was studied for sugar boiling process. This platform has open input /output interfaces and can simulate the real production of sugar boiling process,based on its modular and reconfigurable hardware. The scalable and component-based software could automatically adjust the control parameters such as temperature and pressure,by using different algorithms and various control strategies and a soft sensor method of supersaturation. Experimental result shows that the average relative error is 0. 859 6% and mean square error is less than 0. 001,demonstrating that the supersaturation can be better estimated from auxiliary variable data of the soft sensor. This method has a high prediction accuracy and is of great significance to improve the automation level of domestic sugar mill.
