Orthogonal Experiment Study on Preparation of Water Glass from Industrial Waste of Silica

Abstract: On the basis of the above single factor investigation by orthogonal test, the results of the orthogonal test were analyzed with range analysis and variance analysis, and the effects of the mass fraction of NaOH, material ratio of the NaOH solution, alkali leaching time and alkali leaching temperature on the modulus of sodium silicate were studied. Then in order to improve the temperature of the preparation of sodium silicate, the water bath was replaced by the oil bath. And the single factor and orthogonal test were researched on the optimized preparation conditions. The results show the optimal solution for the mass fraction of 10% NaOH solution, material ratio o∶f 31, alkali leaching time 4 h, and alkali leaching temperature 150℃. The modulus of sodium silicate prepared, was 2.4128 on the optimal experiment condition.
