Abstract: Objective To do comparative analysis of the notifiable diseases underreporting by medical institutions in Panyu district of Guangzhou City,develop strategy for the standard communicable disease reporting. Methods To investigate all medical institutions with the method of general survey during 2010- 2012,using convenient sampling method to extract 10 to 30 cases of infectious diseases from the outpatient,inpatient and laboratories of the medical institutions,and to do statistical analysis on the omission of data,using spss19. 0 Chinese version for data statistics. Results During this period,49 cases were underreported in 2,318 cases of communicable diseases,the underreporting rate was 2. 11%. The underreporting rate from 2010 to 2012 were0. 44%,3. 02% and 3. 39% respectively,in each of the underreporting rate compare the difference was statistically significant( χ2= 15. 538,P < 0. 05); The infectious diseases underreporting rate differences between different grades in hospitals was statistically significant( χ2= 17. 296,P < 0. 05); The underreporting rate of class B、class C communicable diseases and Guangzhou legal infectious disease management were3. 3%,1. 11% and 2. 25% respectively,the underreporting rate of different types of infectious diseases was statistically significant( χ2= 6. 903,P < 0. 05). The higher underreporting rate of communicable disease was Typhoid and paratyphoid( 33. 33%),diarrhea( 12. 5%),infective diarrhea( 11. 11%) and measles( 10%) respectively. Conclusions The underreporting rate of Panyu district during 2010-2012 have a rising trend,it is necessary to strengthen the training and supervision,especially the management of notifiable diseases in private medical institutions and community health services.
