Abstract: OBJECTIVE To investigate effects of Rutong granule( RTG) on rats in duceing puerperal hypogalactia. METHODS Puerperal hypogalactia model was prepared in SD rats with Bromocriptine application. The influence of various dosage of RTG on weight of baby rats,the amount of lactation and the level of prolactin( PRL) in serum were observed and the morphological observation of mammary tissue was carried out. RESULTS The serial PRL of group of RTG high-dose was significantly higher than that of the model group( P < 0. 05). RTG could increase the numbers of mammary gland acilar of lactating rats,dilate gland ducts,and enlarge and increase pituitary eosinophil. RTG could increase the milk volume of lactating rats. CONCLUSION RTG can promote secretion of lactation by means of facilitation of secretion channels.
