Abstract: 3D geological modeling is intuitive,convenient and easy to operate,it has become the focus of geosciences research. The surfaces and solid model of strata is built firstly with borehole data based on the powerful data processing and visualization functions of IDL language. In this paper,it proposes a 3D visualization model of geologic body,and realizes the functions of moving,zooming and rotating processes of the geological model by the way of establishing a visual interface. Moreover,some other analysis functions are also realized,such as arbitrary point stratum attribute query,profile cutting. Finally,by applying to practical project,the system validates the feasibility and practicability of the results.
