Abstract: The electromagnetic field distribution in the diffraction radiation device with dual-grating was physically modeled and analytically calculated.The influence of the geometry of the resonant cavity on the electric field intensitywas evaluated.The calculated results showthatthe width of a rectangular cavity has amajorimpacton the electric field in the resonant cavity.For example,when the rectangular cavity has a height ofλgroove/2,the resonance mode can be decomposed into an independent transverse electro magnetic(TEM)mode of the rectangular cavity and aquasi-TEMmode of the spherical-cylindrical open cavity.In addition,the quarter-wave transformer in resonant cavity does not effectively increase the field intensity in the rectangular cavity,but simultaneously affects the electro magnetic resonant mode and operating frequency.
