Abstract:
Silicon quantum dots( Si QDs) were synthesized in a nonthermal plasma system. Hydrosilylation was employed to modify the surface of Si QDs. The photoluminescence quantum yield of the hydrosilylated Si QDs under short wavelength excitation was about 30%. Hydrosilylated Si QDs were then dispersed in an organic solvent. By means of immersing TiO2nanorods into the resulting solution,Si QDs were effectively adhered to the surface of TiO2nanorods. A Si-QD-sensitized solar cell with the conversion efficiency of 0. 1% was finally obtained.
