Abstract: In order to synthetically evaluate the groundwater disaster in mine and improve the randomness of ranking method relying on experience,an assessment indexes system of mine groundwater disaster and a disaster evaluation model were constructed. The index system of mine groundwater disaster was proposed, which had 3 rule hierarchies and 11 disaster indexes, considering disaster inducing environment, disaster causing factor and disaster bearing body synthetically. The disaster evaluation model based on projection pursuit method was built, which realized the comprehensive evaluation of mine groundwater disaster by automatically dividing the grade and range of disaster based on concrete index data and assigning the disaster indexes by objective assignment method. The evaluation model was applied in a case of mine groundwater hazard assessment. It showed that the model can evaluate the state of mine groundwater disaster and provide reference for water hazard prevention and control, which is practical and effective.
