Abstract: As the medical insurance system grows continuously and the hospital IT infrastructure develops quickly, data interaction between internal hospital information system and medical insurance information system is inevitable. To address the problems of different data types and specific business data requirements of both systems, an XML and API based medical insurance agent is developed for generic-purpose usages. It runs on a medical self-service terminal to ensure that clinical data and deposit flows in the medical insurance cards of patients can be read and retrieved on both the medical insurance system and self-service terminals.
