Continuous Cooling Transformation Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of High-strength Steel HRB600

Abstract: The dynamic CCT curves of high-strength steel HRB600 were detected by dilatometer and metallographic and hardness test. The microstructure and mechanical properties under different cooling rate were studied. The results show that the microstructure of HRB600 steel mainly consists of ferrite and pearlite when the cooling rate is 0.5 ℃/s-3℃/s. The bainite starts to form when the cooling rate is more than 3℃/s, and the martensite starts to form when the cooling rate is more than 10℃/s. The ideal range of cooling rate is 0.5 ℃/s-3℃/s. The results can provide references for making cooling-controlled process of HRB 600 steel.
