Abstract: Microstructure characteristics of surface mechanical attrition(SMA) 1420 Al-Li alloy sample were observed by TEM. The results show that severe plastic deformation is generated in the surface layer of 1420 Al-Li alloy sample by means of SMA. From the surface to the base, four stages of change are approximately formed: nanometer layer, sub-micron layer, transition layer, matrix organization. Among them contrast the dislocation cell structure in the transition layer is also very good out of the computational simulation of nanocrystal structure, the foundation is important for further study on the mechanism of nano.
